A new installation by world-renowned British contemporary artist Julian Opie, Marathon. Women., will be unveiled at the central atrium of GINZA SIX starting Thursday, September 11, 2025.

This large-scale video installation features seven runners inspired by British sprinters, endlessly running at different speeds and in different colors across a floating rectangular LED screen. The moving images unfold both inside and outside of the suspended screens, allowing visitors to enjoy the vibrant energy of the work from multiple angles as they move through the atrium.

Rendered in Opie’s signature colorful and simplified lines, the runners’ movements embody the primal human act of running, resonating throughout the space and creating a powerful sense of immersion. This marks the artist’s first-ever attempt at a floating video installation—an experience not to be missed.
